She broke with the accepted practice of using an elderberry-based preparation to color the wine and instead blended some of her fine bouzy red wine with her classic champagne. The result was the first blended rose, the Veuve Clicquot Ros . Once more, Madame Clicquot was leading the way and changing the rules. Bottle size: 0.75L Region: Champagne, France Grape Sourcing: Blend of 50 to 60 different crus. Maturation: Aging in the cellars for 3 years. Dosage: 10 g/l (Brut) Blend: 50 to 55% Pinot Noir,28 to 33% Chardonnay, 15 to 20% Meunier, + 12% Pinot noir added (red wines from Bouzy) Final Result: Generous and elegant nose with initial aromas of fresh red fruits leading to biscuit notes.The fresh attack is followed by a fruity harmonious sensation on the palate with intense flavors of juicy ripe strawberries and cherries. Winemaking: The blend includes reserve wines originating from several harvests (usually 5 or 6), which ensure the consistency of the House style. This blend is then completed with 12% of still red wine using red grapes.
